Facilitating Health and Recovery
Youth with substance use issues are at a higher risk for mental health problems, including depression, behavioral issues, and suicide. The Lincoln Families Multidimensional Family Therapy (MDFT) program provides short-term intensive therapy to families and youth struggling with substance use and mental health challenges through a variety of therapeutic and behavioral supports designed for:


POSITION SUMMARY: Reporting to the Clinical Manager, provide individual and family therapy to youth and families using the Multi-Dimensional Family Therapy (MDFT) model. Work with families in their homes and communities using an evidence-based model that involves strong engagement, strategic planning, flexibility, and close emotional proximity to families. Facilitate new, curative experiences within families and the systems they navigate. Team with Family Advocates to establish community resources for families and remove barriers to therapeutic goals. Become certified in the MDFT model through a process of didactic and experiential training provided by certified trainers in a supportive environment, and contribute to the growing body of research determining best practices working with adolescents, families and their environmental systems.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS: A courageous, family-centered and strengths-based team player who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and is organized to handle often competing priorities. Demonstrated knowledge of adolescent development and substance use recovery models. Ability to provide containment in emotionally heavy conversations and crisis situations. Able to develop and maintain strong relationships with families and other services providers in the community. Can work independently but also identify when extra support is needed.
